Upstream 2022 is happening virtually on June 7, 2022. Upstream is a 100% virtual, completely free event bringing together like-minded application developers, open source project maintainers, and the extended network of people who care most about their work.
We announced two keynote speakers—Aeva Black of Microsoft and Deb Bryant of Red Hat—a few weeks ago.
Today, we announce our third keynote speaker, John Mark Walker of Fannie Mae. John Mark has been an amazing advocate of the open source community while working in the open source program offices at Capital One, Dell, and Red Hat, before joining Fannie Mae last year. John Mark will bring a unique perspective on how enterprises should work together with the open source community to help it thrive.
Along with our other two other keynote speakers, John Mark will help us more deeply explore this year’s Upstream theme: What do we, as an open source community, owe each other?
If you have thoughts on this subject you’d like to share, please submit a talk proposal. Our CFP is open through April 15.
In addition to our keynotes, we will feature talks from industry experts and community members. We’ll also hold four panel discussions about life after Log4Shell, open source governance, open source citizenship, and a maintainer state of the union.
If all that amazingness isn’t enough motivation to register for Upstream, we’re giving away t-shirts to the first 300 people who sign up (U.S. only, sorry!). Register now to get your shirt!
Come celebrate open source with us on June 7—it’s going to be awesome!
