Don't miss the latest from Tidelift

Symfony is a set of reusable components and a framework for web projects built on PHP, created in 2005. Symfony is also a philosophy, and a community—all working together in harmony. Major PHP applications such as Drupal, Laravel, Composer, OroCRM, and Akeneo PIM are all built on top of the Symfony framework.

The Symfony community counts on 3000+ contributors and 600,000+ Symfony developers. The framework is downloaded more than 48 million times per month. You can learn more about Symfony on the what is Symfony page.

Symfony SAS is the company behind Symfony. The team at Symfony SAS is partly composed of Symfony founder and project lead Fabien Potencier, core contributor Nicolas Grekas, Symfony developer evangelist Javier Eguiluz, and Symfony’s community manager Anne Sophie Bachelard. Symfony SAS provides assurances for Symfony as part of the Tidelift Subscription.

Nicolas says that working through the necessary tasks to prepare Symfony to be a part of the Tidelift Subscription has helped raise the quality of Symfony overall. It gave the team the opportunity to think through a number of long-delayed questions about things like standards for package names.

You can learn more about Symfony on the project website.
