Don't miss the latest from Tidelift

Our mission here at Tidelift is to pay the maintainers. CEO and co-founder Donald Fischer sat down with Adam at Changelog recently to discuss his career up to this point, how it's led him to believe so strongly in paying the maintainers, and why he thinks Tidelift could be one solution to make open source more sustainable.

"We're not asking people to buy a Tidelift subscription mainly because it's a morally correct thing to pay the maintainers," Donald said. "We're inviting people to buy a subscription because it's in your best interest to pay the maintainers. When you pay the maintainers, the software you're using is better and more reliable."
