Meet Distributive, founded by CEO Dan Desjardins and CTO Wes Garland and home of the Distributive Compute Protocol (DCP), a distributed computing platform built on open source web technologies, specifically Javascript. Distributive’s software harnesses an organization’s latent compute cycles to run experiments—ranging from examining astrophysics to optimizing food chains—and helps solve problems faster.

Distributive works with many highly regulated industries such as hospitals and governments, and with their product being built on Javascript, they needed to find a validated and efficient way to manage open source dependencies. Wes and his team know that the code they’re building on the DCP server is secure, but to validate the health of the Node.js dependencies they are using would require a full-time hire. With Tidelift, they knew they could save time, keep costs down, and most importantly, gain peace of mind that the code they’re working with is as secure and healthy as possible.
