Don't miss the latest from Tidelift

We’re excited to share that maintainer Jeff Forcier will now be providing assurances for a number of projects as part of the Tidelift Subscription. Jeff maintains several packages in the PyPI ecosystem, and will be supporting some of most widely used projects, such as Fabric, Paramiko, Invoke, and more!

Fabric is a high level Python library that can execute shell commands remotely over SSH, yielding useful Python objects in return. It builds on top of Invoke (which enables subprocess command execution and command-line features) and Paramiko (which handles SSH protocol implementation), extending their APIs to complement one another and provide additional functionality. Basically, his libraries work seamlessly together.

What’s more, Fabric and Paramiko are both two of the most widely used packages in the Python ecosystem. Using data from Libraries.io, we see that over 7,000 open source projects depend on Fabric, and over 9,000 depend on Paramiko, placing them both in the top 75 most widely used Python projects.
